Apparently, whilst Homerton College was located in the East End of London, we formed Leyton Orient Football Club as a way of keeping our cricketers fit over the winter. Looking to celebrate this link, the 2002/03 saw two games between Homerton FC and the Leyton Orient Veteran Supporters Football Club. the first game, at Homerton, finished 4-4. The return leg, played a Brisbane Road, was won 1-0 by the O's. Commemorative gifts were exchanged, a video made. The 2003/04 game was a tense affair ending 3-3 but Homerton won 4-2 on penalties. The Leyton Orient Veteran Supporters Football Club then presented us with one of their old kits for us to play in, which we now wear with great pride. The 2004/05 Season saw HCFC return for another great day out at Brisbane Road. A 2-1 victory ensured Homerton retained the Leyton Orient Challenge Shield.

After winning the plate in 1999 and 2001, Homerton 1sts got to the final of Cuppers but unfortunately lost to Long Road. In 2003 they were relegated to Division 2 and, after a mediocre 2003/04 season, looked like promotion contenders. 2004/05 saw Homerton go undefeated in Division Two and an emphatic return to the top division.

Homerton 2nd team never really had the players to succeed until the 2002/03 season. With unusually talented crop of players, Homerton 2nds stormed through the bottom division and gave a valiant performance against a high flying Clare II side in the Shield. Losing key players to the 1sts meant the team faltered in their push for a second successive promotion season in 2003/04. After a slow start to the 2004/05 season the Seconds just missed promotion, while a fine Shield run saw the team go as far as the Semi-Finals.

The 2004/05 season saw the creation of the first ever Homerton 3rd team, who had a solid first season, finishing mid-table.
